El NiñoEl Niño

El Niño is a disruption of the ocean
-atmosphere system in the
Tropical Pacific having important
consequences for weather and
climate around the globe. At
present, it is not fully understood
what causes these changes.  But
most credible scientists agree that
atmospheric carbon levels play a
large role.

An iron’s water tank and chrome, red glass emergency light shade, stainless-steel sink
strainer, sideview mirror and coffee percolator grounds cup.

    The Butterfly Effect
The Butterfly Effect

    SOLD

As the lamp heats up the balanced
propeller revolves on the stylus.

The title comes from Chaos theory and the
idea in meteorology that the flapping of a
butterfly's wings can create a disturbance
that can eventually change the large scale
atmospheric motion, so that long term,
weather becomes impossible to forecast.
The erratically unpredictable speed of ro-
tation of the lamps prop seems to be in-
fluenced by infinitesimal factors.

Exhaust fan propeller, compass, thermos, fan clutch, coat hanger, and thimble.

“Boutros Boutros
Ghali”

"Boutros" is named for the Egyption ex-
Secretary General of the United Nations.

Most of these parts came from dumpsters
used by remodeling contractors in the
Greenlake area of Seattle.

Copper and brass toilet parts, steel car transmission parts, a chimney spark arrester, and butterfly type printing wheel thing-a-ma-jiggy.
